As a young woman growing, and learning everyday I notice how deeply social media affects me. I touched upon this in my first post, but I believe there is so much more to be said. In my personal life, I have compared my life to things I have seen on social media without even realizing. I will scroll through my feed endlessly as if I am waiting to see something life altering. Yet, nothing ever jumps out at me, (besides news stories or something about saving the animals obviously). I found myself looking at pictures posted and instantly getting into a negative mindset. I had no idea why. I did some digging and realized it was because while you are living your own life on your own path, your whole day can be disrupted by one post, one phone call, one text. The power of social media has a bigger impact on our lives than you may think. I always wonder what it was like in times before phones existed, just being totally disconnected from the outer world while you go on about your day.

Does anyone else kind of secretly wish social media did not exist?
